Splatter Brush Set
-----------------------------------------------------
This month sees the release of my new Splatter Brush Set!
I only hope they're as fun for you to use, as they were for me to make! Be sure to check these out here:

Linking to my Brushes
-----------------------------------------------------
Do YOU own a website or blog? Do you post regularly on a forum? Then this is specially for you.
Each and every month I get several people contacting me about linking to my brushes. I explain carefully to each one that they are not allowed to link directly to the brushes, but can link to the main page.
I figured it was about time I made this easier for you to do!
I've added this section to the bottom of my free brushes page, so if for any reason it doesn't display correctly in your E-Mail software, then just go take a look there.
Here is some pre-made HTML code which you can just copy and paste, to link to my free brush sets:
Text Link:
<a href="http://www.easyelements.com/free-photoshop-brushes.html" target="_blank">Free Photoshop Brushes</a>
Image Link:
<a href="http://www.easyelements.com/free-photoshop-brushes.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.easyelements.com/image-files/easyelements-free-brushes.jpg" width="235" height="100" border="0" alt="Free Photoshop Brushes"></a>
One thing though. Please DO NOT spam with these links. They are intended for you to post on your own site, if you feel you want to let people know about the brushes I offer. Please don't use them in such a way as to cause annoyance to anyone!
-----------------------------------------------------
Updated Terms of Use
-----------------------------------------------------
I also get many requests about the use of my brushes in various contexts. I've been meaning to clarify the position on this for a while.
Well this month I finally got round to re-writing the Terms of Use for my brushes. It's right there in the text file you get when you download any brush set, (for example the Splatter Brush Set).
There's no legal speak or complex language. It's just a simple, down-to-earth explanation of the situation, so do have a look if you get time.

Smooth Selection Tip
-----------------------------------------------------
We haven't had a QuickTip in a while, have we? Here's a great time-saver when using our old friend, the magic wand tool.
If you make a selection with the magic wand tool, but there are lots of 'speckled' pixels that have been left out, there are some simple ways to fix this.
First, make sure you've adjusted the Tolerance setting correctly. Often tweaking this slightly can vastly improve the selection.
If you're still left with lots of odd pixels, try picking 'Select - Modify - Smooth' from the menu. Then pick a small value (1-10 pixels probably), and click Ok.
This will smooth out jagged edges and missing pixels from the selection, saving you a lot of time manually selecting them.
Finally though, don't be scared to do a bit of manual labour. You might find you do need to get in there with the Marquee tools, and fix the last few bits yourself.
Manual fixing can mostly be avoided, but don't spend so long avoiding it that it would have been quicker to do it manually in the first place!

GenTex Program
-----------------------------------------------------
A while ago I released some seamless textures, which were well received and seemed to be in high demand.
Many of you wanted to know if there was some way you could make your own textures! Well there is.
A utility called GenTex exists, which can help you generate you own textures. It's free for non-commercial use.
You can find GenTex at the link below, by looking down the list for "GenTex - Genetic Textures v1.0", (around the 5th item down).
Beware this program though. If you're anything like me, it'll be all too easy to let hours tick away while you play with it!
