If you don't know about RSS yet, then take a moment to learn now. It'll save you hours of
searching in the future!
Short Story - Important Implications!
You may have seen those little orange 'RSS' or 'XML' buttons, like the one above, appearing around
the internet. RSS is a great new innovation set to revolutionise the way people access the internet.
Basically RSS delivers content to your computer for you, without you having to go and find it. You
can use it to get newsfeeds from CNN or the BBC, or news on upcoming movies, DVD releases, your
favourite musician's tour updates, just about anything really!
Once you get started it's like having your favourite parts of the web come to you. No need to go
out and check for updates all the time, it's all done automatically for you!
"RSS" stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It just means that when you subscribe to a site's
RSS feed, you can keep up-to-date without having to check the site every day or week.
And you'll never get content you don't want either! You only receive updates from the feeds YOU
subscribe to, so there's no rubbish to search through. It really is right in front of you!
How Do You Get Started? Easy!
First download a free RSS Reader. This is special software that reads RSS feeds for you.
Windows - RssReader
http://www.rssreader.com/
Mac - NetNewsWire
http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/
Once you're set up, here's all you have to do...
Right click on the orange RSS Feed button, (Or Control-Click for Mac users), of any news source
that interests you. You can practice on the button below if you wish. Then select "Copy Shortcut",
("Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac users, or "Copy Link Location" for Firefox browsers), and
paste that URL into your RSS Reader.
|
| And that's it! You're subscribed. |
 |
Practice with this link now. Right click to get started.

Don't want to download any new software?

RSS is so easy, saves so much time, and is such a breeze to setup, that I
would recommend it to anyone!
