This can be Addictive

-----------------------------------------------------

Something light-hearted to start: Someone showed me one of Adobe's latest additions to their site this week. Watch out though, you might find it addictive!

Photoshop Elements 6.0

-----------------------------------------------------

Talking of Adobe, they announced last week the release of Photoshop Elements 6.

Now be honest ... There are two responses to that news. Does it cause you to smile and cheer at the thought of all those new features, or do you groan at the release of yet ANOTHER version?

Well, here's the deal. You can see the official website here:

http://www.pse-6.com

But unfortunately, there's almost no information about the new version. (If you dig, there's a small feature list, but it's pretty vague).

So I ordered the new version yesterday, so that I can find out what's new for you. During next week, I'll explore the new features, and put together a short video tour of version 6.0, to give you a better feel for the changes.

Watch out for the E-Mail next week for more details!

Clearing up Confusion

-----------------------------------------------------

Someone wrote to me last week and asked me to clear some stuff up for them. They had a large volume of images to edit, eventually wanting to print out the results.

Understandably, they didn't want to do all that editing, and then find the images printed poorly. But have you ever been confused by the whole area of 'Image Quality'?

DPI, PPI, Pixels, Resolution, Image Size, Document Size, Print Size, Quality, Argghhhhh! There's a lot to take in. Have a read of this article to get the big picture view, and learn what the terminology means.

My Favorite Ever Quick-Tip?

-----------------------------------------------------

It's been a month of discoveries, and recently I unearthed a little-known quick-tip that astounded me!

The reason it caught me off guard is that I have always thought "I wish there was a way to do this". I'd been wishing for this particular shortcut, and it was there all along!

So what am I talking about? You'll laugh when you hear how simple it is...

Double click the Zoom Tool icon on the toolbar, to zoom to 100%

That's it! Simple, but useful. Whatever tool you are using, where ever you are and whatever you're doing, if you want to zoom to 100%, just double click that magnifying glass icon. This saves you selecting the tool, clicking the Actual Pixels button, and then reselecting the tool you were using before, and THEN carrying on.

Sometimes the simplest tips are the best. I know I'll use this all the time, so it may well have jumped straight to the top of my all-time-favorite-tips list!
